There’s nothing better than the feeling that all of things you have learned, explored and have been passionate about have finally come together into a way in which you can serve others to help them thrive and live their best lives.
I am so proud to have opened my appointment books for my Fitness Psychology and Counselling Services, starting May 2017.
For those of you who follow me on social media, you would have perhaps noticed that I have been pretty quiet of late, and its for good reason: I have been busy building a service and service model which now allows me to work individually with those of you who are needing specialised support in areas where personal experience, empathy and understanding are crucial to reaching successful outcomes.
In a world of cookie-cutter programs and people handing out advice based solely on personal experience (“it worked for me, it should work for you too!”) and not necessarily qualified, I am proud to say I not only have both Undergraduate and Post Graduate qualifications in Psychology, I also have a Certificate in Fitness and am a Level 2 Accredited Running Coach. I have recently completed specific CPD areas in:
- Fostering Resilience
- Sports Motivation and Performance
- Enhancing Emotional Intelligence
- Eating Disorders
- Working with Trauma
I offer a variety of session styles both in person or via Skype, and am pleased to offer the following specialties:
You’ve dedicated blood, sweat and (perhaps) tears for months now physically preparing for your A-race; now its time to tick off the last box of full preparation – the mental prep. As an athlete myself and with my coaching knowledge, I have great insight into training loads, periodisation and how training phases can impact your mental state and clarity.
Think of it like Sports Psychology for the Everyday Athlete.
I find one or a series of mental prep sessions is a great way to honour all of the work you have put in so far in order to achieve your true potential. These sessions are also a great way to attend to any training blocks you may be experiencing or just need someone to help you navigate the ‘fog’ that both physical and mental fatigue can cause.

FITNESS BEHAVIOUR & CHANGE
Have you ever really thought about the true nature of your relationship with fitness and movement? For many of us, our relationship with movement, fitness and/or sport was set at an early age, impacting the way we have engaged in these areas of activity throughout our lives.

A key area of passion for my research and application is a concept called Weight Trauma, or Weight Stress. I have a belief that many people who carry weight also carry trauma as a result of social implications of weight and obesity, requiring a treatment model focused on healing and stress management. In line with the general HAES concept, I believe that if we can heal the mind, move the body in a manner which is fulfilling and relative to who we are; and nourish through nutrition, this can lead to overall health improvements for life.
